Engine Room

The Engine Room of the Great Harbour 37 is the MOST OPEN, Bright and Roomy of ANY trawler in her class. You enter between the motors through an opening hatch in the Saloon cabin sole. Standing or sitting in the opening, you can perform all your daily maintenance chores. There is plenty of room to get around the front of the motors should you need to service the outboard side.

Above, we’re looking from the port side to starboard.

Left, we’re looking at the forward bulkhead in front of the port motor. You can just see the hatch opening at the top of the photo.

Looking at the starboard forward bulkhead - This is where the bulk of the electrical installations are located.

Looking at the starboard motor; outboard are the batteries, aft are the water-trap mufflers.

The optional generator is located on center, aft of the opening hatch. You can easily reach through the ladder for normal servicing; a few bolts easily undo in order to remove the ladder completely.

The Great Harbour 37 has 2 fuel tanks, each with approximately 250 gallons (500 total). Racor Water/Fuel Separators are standard. The large Racor is part of the optional Fuel Transfer/Scrubbing System.

A gas-shock assisted Hatch opens in the center of the Saloon sole giving you great access to the machinery space. Note that the ladder has been removed in this photo (left.)
